Jonathan and Chris,

For us newbies, who haven't even used Replay yet, but are subscribed to
Sirius and have trouble just getting logged onto Sirius, well, it seems that
the first thing, in this thread, is that Replay will "go beyond" the Captcha
feature, to open up a stream, right? I just listened to Petro's podcast, on
recording Sirius and it seems to remedy my particular problem with getting
into the Sirius feed! Then, when I have Replay, on my system, I will try
what you just wrote, Jonathan; wow, what a lot of stuff to have to do, just
to get Sirius running correctly, on line!! This merger needs some thought,
on the tech team's part, do you all know what I mean? It used to be so much
easier to get Sirius running and I have been battling with their customer
support people, for months on this score!

Regards,

-Mac-

Hi Chris, thanks for your attempt to help. I've now narrowed down the
problem. You can in fact use the control+T Tune option for Sirius stations,
however, at least on the two systems I've tried it on, you can't have JAWS
running with its default behaviour when you do this. I suspect what's
happening is that there is some kind of macro/script within Replay A/V that
logs a user on. With JAWS running, obviously you need to turn on forms mode
to enter d

-Mac--ata, and this seems to break the log-on process. If I take JAWS
out of the mix, it works flawlessly. So I suspect all I need to do now is to
set the configuration manager in JAWS so that the virtual cursor isn't used
in the Replay Tuner app. No big deal. So it's great, I'm going to set up all
my Sirius favourites within Replay A/V, which I've been using as my Internet
radio tuner as well as recorder for a long time now. And I get to record all
my favourite CNN programmes.

Hi Jonathan. Aparently, something happens behind the scenes so that Replay
A/V can record your stream. Here's what I would try.
You know how CNN does a newscast at the top of every hour and it lasts 2 or
3 minutes? Well, what I would do is schedule a recording on the Sirius CNN
channel at the top of the next hour coming up and watch replay and see what
it does. I know some folks who have successfully recorded Sirius streams,
and Bill Dettering, the CEO of Applian was on Main Menu a couple weeks ago
and confirmed that the replay A/V software has a way to get past the captcha
that is presented when you log in.
So you may not actually be able to tune to the station using the method you
describe, but I'm guessing that it has some kind of mechanism for logging in
and getting past the captcha.

I don't know how it does it, but it should work fine. Give it a try and
tell us all how you get on. I'd be curious to know myself actually. I use
ReplayA/V every single day and I can't imagine not using it now.
Hope that helps.
