I would add that it's no good trying to transfer commercial tapes if you can buy their cd equivalents. If not, or they are personal tapes, then go ahead and have fun.

In this case, my understanding of Gail's original question is that she is transferring cassettes only. In that case, she probably should just patch the cassette deck directly into her PC.No reason to add unnecessary elements.
