On the other hand, I see no reason not to upgrade, as long as I don't lose 
important functionality as a result. With the simple work-around I found for 
version 11's converter, I see no reason not to stay up to date.

BTW, did you see my earlier post, in which I explained how you can tell 
which tracks are selected in the ripper, in versions 9-11?
