Hi Golden. I'd download the latest drivers for the AC-97 first. Make sure
the microphone is in the correct jack and that you know the microphone is
good and it has the proper Amperage. Also make sure the microphone
connection to the computer is tight and properly plugged in. Make sure if
the microphone has a switch that it is turned on. I have an C-media on
board sound which is just like the AC-97 and it works just fine. Good Luck
