High Jim,
I say to you, "join the club man.!
I'm in the same boat you're in.
I too have Dish Network.
I also have a Dish Player DVR receiver.
But the only thing that I can do with it is instantly rewind and play back 
TV shows and songs providing that I have it tuned to a music channel.
However, I understand that we blind folks can do this with something that's 
called Sling Box.
When I have money to spare, I will check in to this so I can tell everyone 
on this list about my experience with it.
