If I want to normalize the audio level in my output files, which is the better thing to do, use RMS or peak values, and what are good numbers? I'm noticing on peak values, 90% is about as high as I'll go without noticing clipping and distortion. Not sure how RMS figures into this or which is better for what purposes (speech or music).
