Okay, so how do you have the sound input set? Firstly, did you run the Total Recorder Recording Wizard after installation? I think from memory you can run this at any time, you'll find it under Options. I have to admit, I've not run into anything like this before but that's probably because I run multiple sound devices and I use an external voice synthesiser, the may be "old hack" in people's eyes but they're god damn handy to have around.
