I use a Zenstone 1 gb player to transfer all books, MLS and other mp3's to 
my NLS player, excellent sound quality.  Don

Hello Howard,
I have an MP3 player.
I plugged in to my NLS player and hit the power button, it started playing
music for me the moment after I powered it up.
But it is a really cheap MP3 player that my wife picked up at a loco dollar
store.
So to be honest with you, I don't know what's going on there.
