I'd also suggest taking your digital player and flash drive with you. That
way you can make sure you get the right thing. They may also help with
plugging the flash drive directly into the player.

Yeh, it's a USB extension cable. You can further clarify that you need
a full male connector on one end and a full female connector on the
other end.
Note that even if you get a USB extension cable, you may still not be
able to fit the NLS cartridge into the female end because of the
limited clearance on the cartridge.

Most flash drives should work just fine though, although you can also
plug them directly into the NLS player.

It's supposed to be a "USB extender cable"..this is what I was told I
needed to ask for; is this not correct? And if not, then what's the
proper name for the type of cord I need?

the flash drive should plug directly into the computer USB port, or
the port on the side of the NLS player. you can keep the cable you
have, you may use it for something else down the road. I don't think
I caught what cable you do have.

Okay..here's the latest: got the drive uncovered..so that is good!
Now I guess I have to get a different cable as the guy sold us the
wrong
thing!
Sorry..but I just know nothing about these things! I thought I had
told Mom the right thing as this is what I was told to
get...apparently
not!

Hi Gang: Okay..this is what I have so far: there seems to be
something on one end of the drive that can come off..but do we need
a screw driver or something? Mom and I have both tried to get this
off..no soap! It does appear that once this comes off, I'm in
business! If one of you cares to write me offlist as I don't wish
to tie the list up with this too long! My email is
tomca...@comcast.net
Thanks!
