High Bryan,
If that were the case, then it wouldn't do that to CD's that I burned myself.
But it's doing that with every CD I pop in to the drive.
If you refer back to my post, I got a message that says, "Windows Media Player cannot rip this CD correctly.
The settings with the drive and the device manager don't match."
Based on this, I think something in the CD rom is a mist, but I don't know what it is.
Help if you can please!
Again, thinks in advance.
 John.

Hi,
It could be that the cd you're trying to rip is copy protected.

Best regards
Brian

Subject: Problems Ripping CD's in WMP-10

Hello all list members.
Just as the title says, I have problems ripping CD's in WMP-10.
I put in a CD that I wish to rip to my library,.
But when I hit the rip button, I get a message that says, "Windows Media
Player cannot rip the CD correctly.
The settings in the CDRW drive and device manager don't match."
What does this mean, and how do you fix it?
Thinks in advance.
 John.
