I tried to use it to do exactly that last weekend, but couldn't get it to
work.
What did I do wrong?

Hi. If you want an easy way to copy a disc rather than ripping and then
burning it then try Express Burn. The free version has the facility to
copy a disc. Also, Nero has that facility but you would have to pay for
