Are you the moderator of the list Tom, and if so, were you speaking as the moderator? If that's the case, then I'd suggest you identify yourself as such when making such a statement. Otherwise, you might just be taken as a moderator want to be and either ignored or criticized. That's just my advice.
BTW, I agree that the post in question was off topic, and I don't have any problem with you pointing that out. As you know though, PC audio is a pretty pervasive topic, so I think a lot of leniency is called for on such a list, and in general, I think it's been a pretty lenient list. I don't have a lot of patience though for people who think absolutely everything is fair game for this list just because I use a screen reader which happens to use my sound card.
