Regarding the battery issue I was having. I wasn't aware of the fact
that the manual suggests you take batteries out ... But I strongly
suspect that the unit isn't expected to drain an entire AA battery
within 12 hours when it is switched off. Would you expect that
behaviour?

No, Dane. The batteries I have are the same ones you have. They are
