Yep! I mean that Sound Forge is known for its unreliability when it comes to 
audio recording and it is suggested that you "optimise" the software for 
recording, this isn't straight forward however and I've had times when - even 
after optimisation is completed as detailed in the help files - I still get 
gaps in Recordings, its also known that Sound Forge has a huge overhead which 
probably explains the recording problems.

On the other hand Total recorder does what it says and does it well! when it 
comes to recording and usually no defaults need to be altered.
