I highly recommend Forte Agent, a news and email program par excellent. http://www.forteinc.com. It does it all for you--sorts properly, threads properly, handles downloads properly. Been using it for sixteen years, back to version 1.32. Now it's at 6.2. Perfectly accessible with proper configuration of program and speechware. No scripts required. 30-day free trial. They also offer their own premium news service, but in my unhumble opinion, it's overpriced when compared with the others I've mentioned here previously.
