It's a newer version of the old Roxio program, is it not? Who makes it if not Roxio? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Adrien Collins" <adriencollins22...@googlemail.com>

I don't know Roxio since about version 6. As I recal, back
then, when you select the rip function, you have several
controls that you can tab through before starting the rip.
One of those controls was for the format and quality, i.e.
.wma at various bit rates, .wav, or .mp3 at various bit
rates.See if you can find such a control. Also check in the
menus for option settings and see if there is such a menu.

To check and see what bit rate the track was ripped at,
highlight the ripped track, right click on it and up arrow
once to Properties. Control tab to the Summary tab and tab
or arrow down through the various options until you find the
bit rate. In the Summary tab you'll wat to make sure that
the Advanced option is checked/activated.

If you can describe the process you go through as you rip a
disk, it might help us to figure out where in the process
selection of the rip format and quality is located.

Good luck.

Clifford

At what bit rate are the files being ripped? My guess is
the default for the program is a low bit rate rather than
a
higher bit rate resulting in a smaller file, but lower
quality.

Hi

I have just played the first files, they seem to be
playable, not sure
how much data there is, the whole folder has about 6
files
in it, but
it is far smaller than the one created by wmp, I have
never had this
before. The magazine lasts about an hour normally. Not
sure what else
I can tell you. What am I doing wrong?

Adrien

Yes, all winamp hotkeys are listed there, and they all
work, though
not all will necessarily speak.

What screen reader are you using with Winamp? If you're
using JAWS, I'd
suggest starting with the JAWS documentation for Winamp.
check out the
hot keys and the usage tips.
