Hello Steve:

If that doesn't work, go to Alt-O and the first choice, which is Settings,
then the second line, which is Driver, tab a couple of times and select the
devices for listening and then microphone.  In my case, I use Logitech
headset for both, but you may select different.  Play with that, because I
remember that gave me headaches for a while, until I found it; it's like
anything else, easy once you find it.

Thanks, Humberto, that's a very fine boiled-down version of the
tutorial whose URL I posted (and then corrected) recently. Trouble is,
I followed every step, but got nothing when I recorded. I tried
starting a Skype call before I started the recorder, and after. A
whole lotta nada. Very strange. Am I supposed to select the recording
profile I created before recording the call? I actually thought I did
that, too. Back to the drawing board I guess.
