Well, that blows my theory. I think memory is also a key factor, especially with Windows XP systems. I had a significantly noticeable performance improvement when I bumped my system up to 4G from 2G. I think the combination of what I was running, Windows XP, JAWS, Switch, SoundTaxi and so on was really struggling running in a 2G footprint.
