you converted them from you tube assuming you were using you tube to MP3 
converter how was the audio
on the source files?

Adrian,

Lowering the bit-rate wil not improve the situation.  There
may be a 
number of reasons why you are hearing distortion, and
changint the 
bit-rate will not fix this.

When you say distortion, do you mean over mudulation, or are
you 
hearing artifacts in the audio?
