Hi Joe, In your steps, after you press the right bracket key, audacity is paused in playback. To be able to delete the selected audio, you have to press spacebar to stop the playback before you press the delete button. (You can't delete during playback). David. original message: Hi. Using windows XP home, Jaws 14 and the latest audacity, I can't seem to edit voice files. Here's how I try. 1. In playback, I hit P to pause the audio where I want to set the start marker using left bracket. 2. P again to resume play till I get to where I want the finish marker then hit P again to pause audio. 3. right bracket to set finish marker. 4. press the delete key. This doesn't change anything when I replay the audio. What am I doing wrong. I've also tried to get to the start and finish positions quicker using the control and shift control keys combined with the right and left arrows. Can anyone please help? Thanks. Joe.
