Gee, Kyle, was that an attempt at sarcasm?
Don't we have enough OS bigotry already?
Oh yes, I'd agree with you that PC bigotry is more ferocious and stupid.
But I think bigotry sucks.
I've used Macs, pre-PCs, PCs and bigger for 30+ years. That's not
oxymoronic, nor moronic.
OS bigotry is.
There WAS a time when Macs were vastly more efficient, effective,
user-friendly, stylish ... the list is endless. And then they weren't all
those things. Style still on top, flat learning curve, and the PPC is still
a great chip, better by the year, but the MacOS got kinda stale, poor
multitasking, a clumsy Finder that was visually deficient (background
tasks?), interface elements, schizoid hardwares, SCSI demons, stuff like
that. It got old.
Now, there's OSX and, with the bugs worked out, it easily wins on style
points and - hopefully - will help destabilize Billie Gates' dystopian Borg
Empire's attempted hegemony, its imitative, bloated and (previously)
deliberately-broken crapola. But don't bet on it just yet, as it's a very
popular bloated crapola - if only by default - aimed at the lowest common
denominator, so bashing "pee-cee'ers" is.... /really/ old.
Why aren't Macs 95% of the market, hmmm? We know, that's good for a million
words, right?
I just got a sweet, slightly used, 8500-180 with 48MB (at the moment), a
tiny 2Gig drive and Apple 15AV Monitor (just needs a sub-woofer). Makes a
great addition to my home network, makes a better platform - at my place -
for my girlfriend's Photoshop and Quark work, etc.
That's why I JUST joined this list (receiving a mere 216 posts to date). I
already find it - the list, and your postings - useful, insightful, and
expect more of same. But I didn't expect such bigotry. A rarity, right?
I also use Winsux 95/98/2K, Linux, Unix on x86 and bigger iron. So? What
does that make me?
A multi-user.
Learn a little more about diversity, Kyle. BTW, I really dig your sig line.
It "Scores! ..."
Cheers.

Time will tell. It always does.
