well, not particularly. the heat thing *was* considered. but i don't
even have a clue how to put in a fan into a quad 800, never mind a PM
7500. it looked a little large to fit in there anyway. it's a big
monster of a drive. prolly the "1/2" height folx would call it.

the bigger one. i have a hawk 2,1 GB in there on the bottom already,
but i need it in the quad (i think), that's going to be moved out
probably.

yeah, i noticed that. though, it stays pretty cool in the external
case. it's just that the ext. case is noisy (short SCSI cable) and
i'm fed up with it.

wit hall this in mind, would it be ok if it was in the top bunk,
until i got a fan in there (and figured out how to power the thing)?

well, my brother-in-law is a PC head (who's open to maccing - would
like a itBook G4) who sez that fans are a good idea if you have
things that run hot ( that's why the 'cuda has always been on a very
old external case with it's own fan). it's just that i don't know how
to hook up those things (like there's no cable or anything inside to
power it), and i don't have a fan (right now) i don't even know what
kind to get for it and so on - like i said, i'm a real newbie with
powermacs. and a quad 800 doesn't exactly run hot.

not my beer, too weak (used to canuck beer). ;-)
BTW, thanks for the input folx.
