Thankyou Kyle, that was useful information. It's good to know that my computer hasn't been damaged by hot swapping. My other Mac is a Quadra 660 AV and I think this has a different type ethernet connector so may not be useful in this instance, or is it?
I'm having trouble connecting to my broadband internet provider, my wife's PC and my Mac take turns. Her PC finds it very easy and my Mac has trouble getting connected again after the PC's had a go. Our ISP feels that I have an intermittent fault in my ethernet port. Is that possible?
