Craig,
Be very careful with the XLR8 G4/SSE upgrade if you either currently have, or
ever plan to have interleaved memory (like filling your memory slots with
identically sized DIMMs to max your computer's memory).
With what I'm going though right now with this card is really does a good job
of speeding things up in OS 9.1 and OS X, but it does not work with *any*
interleaved memory. You could fill one memory bank with 128MB DIMMs and the
other bank with 64MB DIMMs and be okay, but it looks like that is a permanent
limitation. If you can live with having this "minor" hassle then go forward.
Otherwise the word I'm hearing is stick to a G3 upgrade instead for these
OldWorld Macs.
I'm still evaluating keeping or returning my G4/SSE upgrade.
