Greetings, PCI-PowerMacs friends: Quick frou-frou question. I'm on a 6500/Sonnet G3/400 on OS 9.1 with Global Village 2.6.9 software and an Apple GV/56K modem (no telephony software or any other funny stuff to mess with a basic configuration). One tiny annoying thing happens every once in a while is this:
I've got the GlobalFax Controls (e.g. "Teleport" CP) set to "play" the modem through my speakers. For short stretches of time, I will not hear the modem dialing through the speakers, and then it comes back... with no rhyme or reason! All last week, I couldn't hear the modem dialing, and then this morning, I checked mail and heard the modem dialing through the speakers. I asked Sherlock 2 to find all modified documents since my Mac fired itself up, and I can only shoot fish in a barrel. Only possible "suspects" are GlobalFax Preferences, Open Transport Preferences, or -21287 (System Folder:Preferences:Open Transport Preferences:Default Area), or ASP Preferences. Anyone know what's doing/not doing this? It's just annoying that I don't know why. TIA, and peace.... -- Cheers!
