Greetings, PCI PowerMacs friends:

Got it! [I'm on digest, so if some of our messages cross, TIA for

Got a Sony VCR -- with remote! -- and I use the remote to control
Apple CD Audio Player and Apple Video Player on my Performa 6300 [I
use it for an answering machine, CD audio player and TV "set" with
the tuner] which is within eyeshot of my 6500, which was close enough
to affect the volume. But not mute it.

Think Clark's got the answer; on Wed, 18 Dec 2002 07:27:53 -0800,

That's it, but it seems backwards [I'm on OS 9.1, moved up from OS
8.6]. External mic (settings I used to use on 8.6) will not let me
"play through this device," but "CD" will, and "Sound In" is supposed
to but won't. When I set it back on "CD" with "play sound through
output device," I'm hearing the internal modem dial. Guess it's
"RTFM" time for me. Apologies, and peace....
