Not sure if you want to consider this on or off topic - probably off... But...

On my PC, I ran a program that came with the mainboard. The PC is running
an Athlon XP processor. Look at what WMInfo (management program) came up with:
Name : AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1900+
Description: x86 Family 6 Model 6 Stepping 2
Manufacturer : AuthenticAMD
Version : Model 6, Stepping 2
DataWidth : 32 Bits
Socket Designation : Slot A
Type : Central Processor
CPU Id : 0383F9FF00000662
CPU Family : Power PC 604 <--- the interesting bit, to me... concidence?
CPU Stepping : 2
Load Percentage : 100 %
Max ClockSpeed : 1572 MHz
Current ClockSpeed : 1572 MHz
Voltage : 3.3 V
External Clock : 143 MHz
Upgrade Method : ZIF Socket
L2 Cache Size : 256 Kb
L2 Cache Speed : 524 MHz
Display Availability : Running/Full Power

Well, I thought it was interesting. <g> So, are Athlons PowerPCs?
The distant, mutant second cousin? Am I running something here that really
yearns to have MacOS on it?
