Is there any way to share a internet connection between a Mac and a PC?
Such as PC connected to the internet via cable modem, Mac connected to PC via crossover Ethernet cable. Whenever I tell the Mac to go to the internet it does so thru the PC's connection.

Nice thing about IP (Internet Protocol) is that it is most definitely NOT machine specific. I'd suggesting heading over to <http://www.practicallynetworked.com/> for basic info on sharing an internet connection. The setup you describe is definitely doable, it requires enabling internet sharing on the PC. I personally think an easier way to do it is with a dedicated router designed for sharing internet connections. Big advantage is that you don't have to fire up the PC to use the internet with the Mac. Both ways are described on the site.
