Six-slot Macs need a special six-slot compatible solution *IF* used with
a G4. This has nothing do with with whether they're Mach V and everything
to do with the fact they have six PCI slots.

All 9500s and all 9600s need a six-slot compatible solution if used with a
G4 because they all have six-slots. If it's not a six-slot system OR it's
not a G4 (i.e., a G3), then you don't have to worry about it.

Thanks for the response. The G4 was destined for the 9600, but not now. Oh,
well. Guess it'll have to learn video in the 8500.

>Also, what problems are encountered upgrading a Mach V 8600?

No particular problems since it's not a six-slot system.

Hope this helps,
