Umm, AOL's been doing this for years, as have the other large ISP's. Such large webcache servers are actually pretty common (the powers that be were looking at getting one for the campus here to cut down on our outgoing internet traffic growth)

Yes, caching servers are old news. But this is the first I've seen this type of server-driven *compression* offered to non-business class users.
