The card is undoubtedly a PC Compatibility Card, not a DOS Compatibility Card. These cards appear under ASP as "Display card; Card vendor 106B". A "dongle" is required in order to use the card, as it card must be integrated with the onboard video (or a PCI video card) in order to switch modes from Mac to Windows/DOS and back. Almost all software which is required is available on-line: 1) Apple's PC Compatibility Card support, which consists of: a) Mac-side install floppy, and b) Windows/DOS-side install floppy; 2) Apple's driver CD-ROM for Windows 3.11 and Windows 95 (contains sound card support, video support, etcetera); and, required for MacOS 8.5 or later, 3) pcSetup 2.1.7 from pcSetupx.com (but which has disappeared from that site, and now appears to be available at http://download.com.com/3000-2294-2584041.html). There were three versions of the PC Compatibility card, all of which were Pentium 166 models (the previous DOS Compatibility Cards were made with various CPUs): 1) half-RAM (32 MB, expandable), half-VRAM (1 MB, not expandable), 2) full-RAM (64 MB, expandable), half-VRAM (1 MB, expandable), and 3) full-RAM (64 MB, expandable), full-VRAM (2 MB, not expandable). These cards are so cheap from liquidators that it doesn't make much sense to install anything but a maximum basic configuration card (3). -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
