A Yamaha 4416S drive is a very good drive. I have noticed that all drives are subject to contamination, usually from dust. Yamahas perhaps more than others. I had previously retired a Yamaha 8424S, because of unreliable burning, in favor of a 8824S (the over-sized drawer front of the 8424S was also a reason).
