What I need now is to find a way to track a specific IP number that is said to be the address from which I am supposed to have
registered with the scam service. I want to know if this is an actual address or a ruse . And if it is an actual address report the
owner for fraudulently using my email address and any other identifying data.
Show us the full headers of the email in question - from that we can tell you what's forged and what's not.
As for tracing an IP... Use a tool like WhatRoute or IPNetMonitor. Traceroute will show you the path thru the 'net to that IP. Whois at the appropriate NIC to find out to whom the IP is actually allocated.
