Someone had recently replied that it wasn't possible to set the trash to empty on quit in outlook express on the Mac version.
I have always had it set this way - the control/function is buried in the "schedules" pull down menus. I can also vaugley remember there being a way to set up the additional accounts (read kids) so that, although every mail account had it's own password it came through the main account first before being redirected and the owner of the main account could read anyones email from the main account with out the secondary account users knowledge. This may have been an AOL function, since it was an AOL tech who originally taught me this stuff.

My original Q? concerning safe email (and web browsing) was more concerned with how to prevent objectionable material from reaching the kids accounts in the first place. My Q was prompted by the fact that a large employer I was at several years ago was virtually spam free through out the entire corporation - questionable emails were prevented from reaching the recipient with out their knowledge that an email had even been sent to them. They also had something installed on their network that prevent anyone from accessing any www material deemed "questionable", much to grumbling of many of the employees. We also tried many things in our efforts to get around the corporate censorship issue, none of which were successful -lol
