Hi listers

I have a Seagate 20GB SCSI drive which I would like to install in my 7300/200
(OS9) as a replacement for the existing 2GB drive.

I have looked up the model number on the Seagate site and it confirms that
the drive is an Ultra 2 SCSI using Low Voltage Differential, 16 bit interface.

The drive has a 68pin connector. Is it possible to connect this drive to the
7300 using an adapter or different cable?

Should work with the proper 68 to 50 pin adapter as long as you set the
drive's SCSI ID and termination it properly.

You will be limited to somewhat less than 10 MB/sec data transfer rate of the
SCSI II internal bus of the 7300 unless you add a more advanced SCSI card and
connect your new drive to it.

Be sure you get an adapter that will fit in the 7300's drive bay. The one I
use is "offset" and takes very little additional space behind the hard drive.
Also since you drive is greater than 4.5 GB and an U2W you will need an adapter
with 9 line neg. term (9LNT).
