Hi all, I recently installed a USB2/FireWire combo PCI card on my old and beloved 7500 to connect an external CDRW burner. I'm under OS 9.2.2 but after I activated both FireWire Enabler and FireWire Support extensions (ver. 2.8.5 that came with OS 9.2.2), the system crashes at restart during loading extensions, when the cursor turns into a small bomb. I tried many extension set combinations and I can conclude that these FireWire extensions do not produce the crash separately, but only when put together. If the extensions are activated separately, the CD-RW burner is not seen. I've not found reports of such problemes at the XLR8yourMac web site.
My configuration is: Power Mac 7100/100 with PPC 601; 256 Mb RAM, 512 Kb L2 cache, 1 Gb SCSI hard disk, 60 Gb ATA HD conneted to an ATA PCI card, one 3 x USB2 plus 3 FireWire ports PCI (SOHO 1394/USB) card that is said to be compatible with Mac OS 8.6 or later.
