I've only seen one internal modem , and I don't even have a 6500.

With those codecili, IIRC, it said Global Village right on the modem, which
helps me identify it.

 And yes, having d/l ed it several time, there are both firmware and
software upgrades  available for the Global Village modems which helps
bunches.

 I may have some stored around here, because chasing the s/w down can be a
hassle.

If you find out it is a Global Village, try google and I'll try a system
search.
