Hi,
I've got a 9600 which has a cd-rom/floppy and a zip drive in it.
The Zip was disconnected when i bought it and in an effort to connect it - i connected the SCSI ribbon and put the power adaptor into the unit and switched it on.
It seems i may have plugged this cable in upside down or something as the 9600 tried to power up but then turned off - there was a very small amount of smoke from the back of the zip unit. i unplugged the zip completed and tried to boot - the machine now switches on and the fans, etc kick in but it doesnt seem to get any further than that.
Anyone have any idea what i have 'blown'????
Regards
Mark
