Just another little thing. This business of "the quality", I am happy if the

that to improve with almost any other card! As for quality, any further
explanation? I don't play games, I make websites, do printing layouts in
Illustrator and use Photoshop and Fireworks a lot, and read a lot of text
(this is important), amuse myself seeing short film clips and flash and
stuff people send but beyond that I am not too fussed. I don't want fancy.
So maybe this Voodoo 3 3000 might do me for now for the 7600 if I can get
one.

I don't use a flat screen, so I can not give a first hand account, but here is the best I can do from heresay and conjecture and what I have read.

When you use a VGA connection, the video card converts the digital signal from the computer into an analog signal that your CRT monitor can display. When you use a LCD, what happens is that you convert the digital signal from the computer to an analog signal, which your LCD then converts back into a digital signal to drive the pixels. Going through 2 conversions (digital to analog and back again) MAY cause some loss of video information, including colors. You may also lose some of the color gamut by going through the 2 conversions.

As to the sharpness, as long as you use the LCD at the manufacturer recommended resolution, it will be sharp. it is when you go to a higher or lower resolution then the native resolution of the LCD that you lose sharpness.
