I have a PowerMac 6500/275 with a TV/FM Card installed. I am running
Mac OS 8.0. When I finally set this up the way I wanted it, everything
worked fine. The last time I remember the remote control working was
when I was trying to record something and the video kept playing but
the cursor froze and I couldn't stop it to save. When I restarted the
machine I tried again and disabled the remote. As this made no
difference I unchecked it again. A couple days later when I tried using
the remote again it would turn on the computer but once it started up,
it did nothing. I tried zapping the PRAM, it did nothing. So I
initialized the volume and reinstalled from scratch with entirely new
copies of the software. This did note help, I still get the same
problems. The remote will work to turn on the machine but nothing more.
It won't even turn it off after it is turned on. The batteries in there
are nearly new at full power. I checked many times the disable remote
control box in the TV application but no matter what I did there, I got
no success. Can anyone help me? Thanks.
