Hi,
te har ddisk in my powermac 8600 was apprently ont he way out, its no
longer being seen, but i was given another 4 gig drive for free (which
was quite nice)

however i'm having problems booting from a cd to get an OS installed.
the os disc i got with the machine is badly scratched and unreadable,
i ran one of those things for removing disc scratches over it and my
eMac reads it ok, but i cant get it to copy and make a bootable disc,
the powermac refuses point blank to read the original disc, and i'm
not sure if it even reads the cd-rs. anyone got any advice, other
than pick up another copy off ebay?
