A cheap idea is get a 7300-7500 Mobo and cpu . You will need
(probably) OS 9 to run NS 7 ( I did). And the older cpus will really
drag. I use a G3 300.

I'm looking for a cheaper & easier solution, namely using the computer (PM7200/120 with lots of memory) I now have. Also I want a simple solution because I maintain my brother's computer in the next state and he is very computer illiterate so I try to keep our systems identical to ease troubleshooting. My wife almost died laughing when she found out I was a computer 'expert' (to my brother).

Your best bet then is Netscape 4,78-4.79. Probably the most stable for that machine.

Earthlink should allow Mozilla though. But not sure.

If I can't find something to work with Earthlink then I have to find another ISP that is compatible with an older Mac. Any ideas? I may upgrade eventually but am not ready to do it before May 20, the deadline.

I have used Earthlink for 5 years with Netscape 4.03 to 7 . So NS will work there. Mozilla being related to NS should mean something too.

Mozilla 131 works fine on my PM7200/120. Is it 128 bit compatible? How do
I test it?

Look in the "About Netscape Communicator" box in the Apple menu. It
should state the encryption.

It says: This version supports International security with RSA Public Key Cryptography, MD2, MD5, RC2-CBC, RC4 . Does that mean 128-bit? How do I test it?

Google for that spec and see if it is 128 bit.

Good luck.

When you get a few bucks $ 10 or less will buy a mobo and $ 5 or less a faster processor. Even a 132 will seem faster to you.
Your memory will fit and the cache too. This is a very easy swap as long as you are patient.

It will also later take a G3 processor needed for some programs etc. As you get the money.
And you will still know how to work on your brother's machine.

To go to NS 7 you will need a faster processor and more memory.
