Yet still untried, but Thanx for the point to here.

Glad that you were able to score the download. You will more
than likely find iCab less of a memory hog, clean and faster
than most, and able to mask itself as another type of browser
should the need arrise also.
May I also suggest that you seriously consider setting up a
RAM Disk in your Memory CP(say 4Mb in sz) don't check
save upon shutdown, restart and you will find a fresh one on
your desktop at each bootup, then bootup your browsers one
at a time and in prefs set it to use the RD to hold it's cache
files(as a RD is faster than writing to HD and will eliminate
a buildup which often are the cause of slowdowns and probs)
finally quit the browser to save settings and you're good to
go faster(hint; I've got mine often set to not; load images,
Java, JavaScript, and no extra unused plug-ins loaded) for
even faster loading and app. bootime(yet all basically usable
with a change in the prefs/save/then click reload page, and
quite often in prefs. dump saved cache/save and just keep
on surfin'). HTHs some.

May I inquire, if'n you are using Timbuktu(or some other) to
aid in the setup/config of your distant brother's Mac? I've not
had the need, but it is said to be great for that purpose. iirc

Also, Thanx for your Guru inputs to both Peter and Glen, and
Adrian do keep us posted on your future good tryouts, and/
as well as any brickwall finds.
