What we need is a set of consistent and clear algorithms for particular Macs
so anyone can get their SCSI chains right. So far, I have not recognised any
as such. I am imagining a program (either in basic or a spreadsheet
algorithm) that does not need any understanding of the theory behind the
issues. The difficult bit is to assemble true statements that are clear and
consistent with each other. Each program would concern itself with only one
chain (internal built in, external, off a particular card). The programs
might be near identical.

The programmer might need help with the true and clear statements.

For both the internal and external (off the built in SCSI) chain in the
7600/7300, I know one for sure:

The Mac 7600/7300 is terminated and has ID 7

Ergo:

If- then

If and only if

If A and not B

If not A then B
