Hi listers!

This might be off topic but I will appreciate any response.

Since a friend sent me an attached jpeg file, all my similar files
now has the name of that file (REDiscovery.jpg document) appearing on
the "Kind" description when I hit the "Get Info" routine. This only
happens on files that has "Picture Viewer" as the default application
for viewing. Other jpeg files that I have modified with, say,
Photoshop still has the "Photoshop JPEG file" on Get Info's "Kind"
description. The same files if viewed or moved to my other computer,
an Imac, never exhibit this quirk.

I made an attempt to remedy this by removing all translation options
on both the "File Exchange" and "Internet" CPs that has the name or
refers to this "REDiscovery document". After restart, It worked for
awhile but later it started coming back to annoy me. This time, I can
not find any more references to it on the two Control Panels to help
point me to the source of this problem.

I'm afraid I made a "shotgun-a-fly-on-the-wall" approach to this
problem but missed. Any suggestion or help would be appreciated.

Another off topic but I might as well try...

I have both a Chinese SimpleText and SimpleText (english)
applications on my system. Everytime I click-open simple text file,
the Chinese version is always the first to load if I don't have the
English on yet. How can I make the original SimpleText the default
application for all simple text file again?

Thanks in advance,

Arnel
