Hardly. Or was that sarcasm? My posting may have sounded a bit
pendantic, but I wanted to lay it out in a simple organized fashion.
Jeff, your posts on Mac hardware on these lists and other forums are
always informative. You always try to help and inform. I don't know what
the poster of above the message meant but I would take it for what its
worth.
My apologies to David D. Strangely, sometimes it is difficult to
take a compliment graciously.
The point I was making (poorly) with "Hardly", is that my knowledge
of Macs is limited to a fairly narrow range. There are plenty of
folks who know more than I in various subjects. For example, my
newest Mac is a Beige G3 and my main machine is still a PowerSurge
(x500 family). I know very little about "newer" models (the last
five or six years) or about software issues.
I made a study of the x500 architecture because of the S900 PCI
compatibility issues and in an attempt to adapt CPU upgrades to the
Apple Network Server, which uses the same chipset as our x500
machines. So in those narrow areas, I have a fair depth of knowledge.
