Thanks to responses on this list and other sources of info, I gather that I won't be able to install or run OS X - or play DVD's - with any of my ixMicro display cards. As I mentioned, I also have access to the following two cards now sitting in my rarely-used Beige G3: >Card name: ATY,XCLAIM3D >Card model: ATY,GT-B >Card ROM #: 113-39202-120 >Card revision: 154 >Card vendor ID: 1002 >Card name: ATY,mach64_3DU >Card model: ATY,GT-B >Card ROM #: 113-XXXXX-1.1 >Card revision: 154 >Card vendor ID: 1002 >VRAM size: 6 MB (Can anybody say what the differences are between these two cards with the same model code?) I get the impression from what I've read that these cards will work with Jaguar but not Panther. Is that true? Also, can these cards be used in any OS to play DVD's without a separate hardware decoder? I also have the option of a private deal on a new-in-box ATI Radeon 9200 Mac Edition Pci card for about $90. I infer from the description on the ATI web site that this card will support DVD playback. (Since they mention that a DVD drive is required, which is pretty obvious, it seems unlikely that they wouldn't mention it if a hardware decoder were necessary!) But I'd rather not spend the money on this card if I can get much of what I need from one of the cards described above that I already have! I'd rather save the money and use it towards a G4 or G5. Comments on any of these express or implied questions are, of course, appreciated! - Aaron -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
