IIRC, there's either an extension that gets put into the Extensions folder that causes AIM to start up, or there's another place it might be... In the Startup Items folder. Also, open up AIM, then do a command-; to open the Preferences window and deselect the Auto Launch feature. Click OK, then close it. -J
