You may have a HDD ID/same ID#/conflict. Will it boot with extensions

Tho' from the following, it seems to be more of a hdwe. prob., not the s/w?

My 8500 went cantankerous several mos. ago. Listers suggested resetting the
CUDA button (on mobo, left end of proc.card- hold down for a min.), remove
PRAM battery for a while, or o/nite. Clean/re-seat all DIMMs, video chips, etc.
Trim the number of DIMMS on board, in case of a bad chip/s. It 'may' elim.prob.
Anyone?> Would a bad SCSI controller cause same no-boot prob.? Dunno 'bout it.

Hope you find/solve no-boot problem, as it's such an aggravating Waste Of
Time!

*Acc. to TechTool Pro, my problem seemed to be with Op.Sys. Finder; T/T could
not repair, so wiped HDD and *lost OS9.1 + can't load 8.6 from Install CD copy*

*last issue cont'd. on "[PCI] OS8.6 Install CD copy, 8500 no-load " >same day
