Thaks for all the good pointers. I cleaned all the contacts on all
things pluggable and got it to boot from a Zip Drive. Norton Utilities
then found problems on both disk drives which were fixable.
After fixing, the machine boots from either disk. Did a clean install of
OS 8.5 from the CD I have.
What is the best OS to use on the 8500? It seems to run fine with 8.5
(before problems I had 8.6.1 -- but don't seem to have the updater left
on the HDs).
How do I get a copy of the best OS to upgrade from 8.5?
